2010 Winners

THANK YOU to all of the entrants and voters in the 2010 Community Spirit Christmas Lights Competition!

Nine hundred and forty votes were received and the winners were announced at a festive prize giving function at Ray White Mt Albert on 21st December, with tasty nibbles kindly supplied by Triniti of Silver Café.  Catherine Goodwin, General Manager of Goodwin Realty Group thanked the many sponsors for their generous support – and the participants for their ‘community spirit’ and for providing such pleasure to local residents with their fabulous displays.

Thanks to the top quality photography of all entrants’ homes, kindly sponsored by the Auckland West branch of, participants also received a large printed picture of their beautifully decorated homes – a great momento of the competition.  

The proud winners were: 1st prize: Singh family of 41 Rua Road, New Lynn;
2nd prize: Anne and John Barker of 46 Woodward Road, Mt Albert;
3rd prize: John and Faye Peel of 676 Sandringham Road, Mt Albert.
The winners received Christmas Hampers donated by Big Splendour and family passes to MOTAT, Auckland Zoo and Paradice Ice Skating.

A special Judges Award - a Royal Albert bone china vase - went to Bruce & Diane Rutherford of 58 Miller St, Pt Chevalier.

All money raised from the competition together with a generous contribution from the Goodwin Realty Group, resulted in $1500 being donated to the following five local Plunket branches: Avondale & Rosebank; Mt Albert; Sandringham & Kingsland; Pt Chevalier and Mt Eden.
